I love this place My 2 yo son Leo has made some amazing progress in the few months we started going 4 months ago. Leo especially loves OT with Miss Nina. He asks to go play with Miss Nina everyday. Hes gained so much more confidence and has started to become more social and brave at the park. We used to stick to the swings but now hes running around going down the slide climbing jumping and he tries to make friends. Its so wonderful to see him blossom like this.We also do speech with Miss Carolina and Miss Shreya. My sons speech has come along in leaps and bounds. He used to be so quiet and now he wont stop talking. He says 6 word sentences now Hes starting to tell us about his day and ask questions. Its amazing how far hes come in a short amount of time.

Our daughter started seeing Ms. Shreya in late November 2021. They immediately clicked on a Zoom session and the relationship was even better when they met in person. Ms. Shreya is great she is always prepared and on time for their sessions. She is also very aware of how to work with our special 4 year old. She makes their sessions fun entertaining and most of all our daughters expressive speech is improving better than with most speech therapists weve had in the past from other places. Everyone that we have encountered at JLD has been so easy to work with so far and they made enrollment so easy compared to other places we have worked with in the past Highly recommend

People say your child is just picky. Maybe even some health professional said it. But you know that your childs eating difficulties are not normal or just a phase. I am so thankful I listened to my gut and kept searching for answers. I learned about feeding therapy and JLD was highly recommended to me. We have been having therapy with Jennifer Alva Lewis for one year now and we have made so much progress Our journey is still long and without going into specifics about our personal situation we always feel listened to and supported regarding the feeding challenges. When your child does not eat properly it affects many areas of their physicalmental health and consequently their education too Jennifer is extremely knowledgeable very accessible and perhaps most importantly she passed our childs good vibes check She has provided us not only with the therapy itself which has been so helpful and effective but she has also provided guidance and support in seeking answers in the other areas of our childs life that have ultimately been affected as well. Jennifer has been and continues to be a very important piece of the puzzle in trying to help our child live his healthiest and happiest life possible

Unprofessional staff. They terminated my sons service without notifying me or emailing me. This all stem from the lack of communication from their administrative staff. Ive now received call logs of me trying to reach them last week to reschedule an appointment with no success because they usually dont answer at times. I spoke with the director and had an aggreement with her. However they chose to just terminate my sons service without notifying me. My son needs services. His therapist have been great. Now i have to tell my son that he will no longer see his therapist. The staff is unprofessional and rude. Two years with joy and laughter and they drop my autistic son without notice with no merit.Thats very cold. Especially they dont answer their phones or respond back with emails on time. They also lack therapist so scheduling appointments are tight. They have a strict attendance policy which they themselves dont abide by. If a patient calls to reschedule or cancel in a timely manner someone from their administrative staff should respond in a timely manner.Therapist who are great are CarolinaAndreaand Josh. Thank you for your service. I wish my son could have a said a proper goodbye . Very disappointed with this practice.

I would give 6 stars out of 5 to Jennifer Alva Lewis our feeding therapist who weve been seeing now for quite a while at JLD.Our daughter has been struggling with bottle and feeding aversions for a very long time and weve been trying to tackle these issues with our paediatrician who at some point when she turned 9 months finally threw in the towel and told us to go see Jennifer.Jennifer has been incredibly pivotal in helping our daughter establish a healthy relationship with food. We were battling many different factors at once which Jennifer was able to identify with us. Shes an expert when it comes to handling tongue ties which our daughter had but we decided along with Jennifer that in her case it would be less beneficial to get it resolved food allergies constipation and so on.We still see Jennifer to this day as we progress along her food journey and I cant imagine us continuing without her.I will however give this establishment a 45 because though they are helpful at times they can be very late in responding to emails calls and getting back to us for billing purposes. I also highly encourage the team at JLD to look into working with more insurances to get better coverage for families since most insurances are not accepted which is bizarre to me. Many families with feeding and speech issues look to organizations like JLD for help. And more often than not so many cant afford to pay out of pocket. I hope something will be done about this.Regardless Jennifer is fully accommodating to our needs and is making a world of a difference in our childs feeding skills.

This is a review for Jennifer Alva Lewis.I took my 6 week old daughter to see Jennifer since we were having difficulty around feeding feeding aversions and classic signs of reflux and Im so glad that we found her. When I first called we werent going to get seen for another one or two weeks out. I even called the front desk to ask if we can be seen earlier but they said no. BUT when Jennifer saw our intake form and noticed it was for a newborn she had her team call us back right away to be seen the following day. You can imagine when a baby is not eating well you dont really have a week to wait so were thankful she made an exception to see us so quickly.Upon meeting her I was calmed by her warm and caring demeanor. She is attentive to our daughter and reassuring to us as first time parents. She is gentle and waits for babys permission. She helped observe some behaviors with our daughter and gave us advice that helped reduce baby choking when feeding. What really knocked the ball out do the park is Jennifer even went out of the way to check in on us. She even wrote a referral letter for us so that we can be seen sooner by a different specialist. She made sure to share observations with us so that we can continue to work on improving my daughters situation.I wish every pediatric provider was like Jennifer L. Especially when these little ones cant advocate for themselves. Thank you Ms Lewis

our kid was on the waiting list for two months got evaluated and just one day before his scheduled class we were contacted saying that teacher has resigned and we were back on the waiting list. 4 months later they still didnt get anyone and suggested to go to some other place. this is beyond normal and highly irresponsible.

We have been going here since July 2020 I believe. The staff is amazing and supportive. My daughter has speech with Ms. Nicole who is super sweet patient and thorough. My daughter and son have OT with Ms. Nina and Mr. Chris. Ma. Nina is out of this world. She is incredibly knowledgeable caring and goes above and beyond to help both my kids. Mr. Chris is incredibly kind and both my kids love working with him. We wouldnt go anywhere else and recommend Joy and Laughter to everyone we can.

Jennifer Alva-Lewis was instrumental to our sanity and our daughters ability to eatFrom day one we could never get her latch at the breast and she would start screaming if we even attempted so we accepted that she preferred to be bottle fed. After a couple of weeks around the 1 month mark it became very evident that she didnt like the bottle either and she started having some major bottle aversions. Leaving us to spend hours trying to get her to take even an ounce. In doing some of my own research and knowing there is family history of tongue ties we brought this up to our pediatrician but were shrugged off because she can stick her tongue out and I have never seen a tongue release fix anything. We had to self advocate and find our own Pediatric Dentist and were on an extremely long waiting list 5 months long with Stanford to even get evaluated even though we were listed as urgent. Because of the lack of support from our pediatrician it took until she was 3.5 months old before we could be seen by the dentist who immediately determined she did have a posterior tongue tie and performed the release. We told him that we did not have any end in sight with finding an occupational therapist when he recommended us to Jennifer. By that afternoon she was on the phone with me and providing me with helpful tips and solutions to try and help us feed her until we could meet with her in person for an evaluation.Once we were able to meet with Jennifer we were instantly vindicated that she was indeed struggling to use her tongue in a way that she could be successful with eating or even feel safe to eat. She had a lot of bottle trauma that set us on a long path of retraining both us and her how to eat and love the bottle. With her guidance and exercises we now have a completely different baby. If you did not know the issues she had you would never guess it today. She now knows what she wants when she wants it and how to get it. We owe that entirely to Jennifers work with us. Our daughter loved her time there in therapy and we as parents were very sad when she told us that we had graduated and wouldnt need to come in every week anymore. However this is where I also throw a nod to Jennifer who has continued to provide support when needed even after graduation. She has written a guide for us to send to daycare as well as given us a clear path on the next stage of our food journey with starting solids. With all of this said we highly recommend Jennifer to anyone and everyone that may be struggling with their little and feeding issues. We loved our time with her and know she will continue to do wonders for all the children she gets to work with.

We saw Jennifer Lewis for Feeding Therapy for my newborn after he had his tongue and lip ties released frenectomy at 15 days old. His initial recovery and progress after the procedure pre-feeding therapy was very slow and I wasnt seeing much improvement. Thankfully after 6 weeks of this we contacted a new pediatric dentist who referred us to Jennifer at Joy Laughter.Throughout the course of 9 weekly sessions with Jennifer we saw a major change in his tongue movement and abilities. She gave us exercises to do at home each week and worked with him in person to develop his skills. She was extremely knowledgeable about oral function and tongue lip and buccal ties. She answered any and all questions I had and my son loved his therapy sessions with her.He graduated from therapy 2 weeks ago and is a completely different baby with his abilities to both bottle and breastfeed since we started with her. At our first session he could barely move his tongue around in his mouth and now we are seeing amazing range of motion. He is able to transfer milk efficiently and has even jumped from the 18th to 42nd percentile for weight I believe this is due to his improved breastfeeding skills and oral function.I had gone down the rabbit hole with my research and saw so many daunting experiences about recovery from tongue tie releases so I was very anxious and frustrated when we started therapy at Joy Laughter. I am so grateful to Jennifer for her knowledge and hard work with my son. Im proud we now have a tongue tie release success story and owe so much of that to herI highly recommend any parent considering a tongue tie release for their infant contact Joy Laughter and Jennifer Lewis to pair the procedure with Feeding Therapy sessions. It made a world of difference for us.
