Our son has been at Moving Forward for 8 years. He slowly progressed through the tiers of support and lives close by in Napa a wonderful town still with lots of loving attentive support. MF had allowed us to believe that after we are gone our son can continue to live happily and well. We are so grateful.

MFTI has been a wonderful experience for our son He has been with them for4 years now and he has achieved tremendous growth in so many areas including personality socializing hygiene independence work habits and caring and sharing. The staff has been very helpful and professional as well as informative on a regular basis. I cant say enough good things about MFTI

Our daughter was born with with special needs but is very high functioning. Weve always known life would not be perfect for her but joining Moving Forward was the best thing that ever happened to her and to our family She has many friends a sense of community and a caring and supportive staff. Moving Forward has given her the support she needs to live independently in her own home in a small safe community and she has thrived there. Parents and families are very involved in supporting the program and have formed a friendly community of their own. Moving Forward may not be for everyone but it is perfect for our daughter and seems so for many of the other adults in the program. Highly recommended

Moving Forward Towards Independence is a three-tiered transitional and community living program for adults with learning and developmental challenges. Residents begin their journey living in a house with other residents. When they are ready they move next door into an apartment and later they move out into the community. The program teaches independent living skills of all sorts from cooking and cleaning to money management and from dealing with social drama to developing healthy relationships. My daughter has been in the program for almost eleven years. She lives in an apartment volunteers in the community and has grown much more than she could have while living at home. Moving Forward Towards Independence is a warm active community supported by a caring intelligent staff who understand their clients needs and help each client to move forward towards independence.

I was a resident within the program for about a year and a half. Ended around the time that Covid hit. Its definitely got its perks but I wasnt really taught much. For someone who has a minor learning disability and a mental illness I didnt get much out of the program. I wish there were different levels of expectations and classes for those of us who had higher functioning disabilities. I did love the staff and still keep in touch with a few. I dont recommend this program if you or your child can live on their own have the skills to keep a full-time job without assistance or just has simple learning differences.
